Price Local is a new web tool that will assist online shoppers to get desired information and Amazon Prime prices of their desired product
According to sources, it is believed that a new Amazon Inc. like service has been launched in the market which is known as Price Local. The new service actually vows online shoppers to easily get prices almost same as Amazon on various products that are available for purchase at local retail stores. The new web tool is specifically designed for those people who prefer to shop online more and want their ordered goods right there and then. Furthermore, it will also fit those online shoppers who buy locally in order to support businesses within the community.
The founder of the new web tool, Matt Chosid, stated “We're trying to take 'showrooming' and turn it on its head to drive customers back into local stores.” This is actually a great concept by Price Local as the only thing that stops customers from shopping online is the physical shopping advantage and showrooming. The term showrooming can be defined as a person roaming around in a brick and mortar store and looking for his desired product, he gets full information and price from the salesman. But in the end, he/she goes online to buy it at a lower price.
Price Local will somewhat give the same experience to the users as it will allow online shoppers to do their thorough research of the desired product and then buy it later at the store. This way, the customer will not only get all the desired information but can later buy it at ‘Amazon’ price as well. Hence, Matt Chosid labeled it as a ‘win win’ situation for retailers and online shoppers.
Price Local is very simple to use. It is a browser extension that anyone can add on their desired browsers. After installing the extension on your browser, search for a product that you like on Amazon and then click on the Price Local button in order to extract all the details and information from a local store which will be close to the price of Amazon Prime. The best part for online shoppers is that there is no need to be a Prime member in order to use this web tool.
The Chief Strategy Office of Price Local, Larry Freed, stated “In all honesty, these consumers are not going to stop shopping at Amazon. But there are times when they want to shop at the retail store and this is going to give them the capability to do it.” He also believes that his new web tool has a good consumer appeal.
