Apple has increased the storage on iCloud to 100,000 songs
Apple Inc. has announced something enticing for its iCloud users where they have now increased the limit for songs to 100,000. The tracks can be uploaded via Apple Music and iTunes Match services. The company so far has not made any official announcement regarding this feature by the company. However, the Mac Rumors users have now reported that the recent feature has enabled them to store and upload their music libraries with more than 25,000 songs which was the limit initially.
This is actually not a surprise for many Apple lovers since Eddie Cue, the senior vice president of the company’s Internet software and services, earlier mentioned in a tweet that the tech giant was reportedly working towards expanding the storage capacity to house 100K tracks through the iOS 9. iOS 9 was launched earlier in September but at that time the increase in the storage capacity was not expected. So now the company has actually fulfilled the promise it made earlier right before the holiday season kicks off.
This is actually great news and a great add on to Apple products for all those who have a massive music archive. Moreover, those Apple users that cannot get their hands on a 128 GB or 64 GB iPhone can also benefit from this endeavor. The increase in the number of tracks that can be uploaded will actually be a compensation for the minimal storage capacity in the company’s devices. So if your device does not have ample space then you can easily store and enjoy your music through the cloud.
For most of the Apple users, the capacity to upload 25,000 songs was actually enough. However, a few users thought that the limit was not feasible since home collections take up a lot of space. With time technologies are becoming extremely sophisticated thus creating the need of more and more storage space. A logical solution is to preserve the data on cloud instead of the devices. This will actually make the access and sharing of content easier and efficient.
Apple is certainly not the only company that has enabled its users to store music using clouds. However, Google is a step ahead as it allow users to store almost 50,000 tracks on its Google Play Music and that even free of cost. Instead of reducing the prices, the tech behemoth has decided to offer almost twice the amount of storage than its arch rival. This gives an edge to them in terms of storage not pricing,
