Dunkin Donuts Releases Red Christmas-y Cups Amid Starbucks Red Cup Controversy

The multinational holding company released it Christmas themed cups during the Starbucks' christmas cup controversy and actually received a good response.Dunkin Donut has recently launched its own holiday cup, just like Starbucks. Although Starbucks clearly states “Merry Christmas” on the cup, Dunkin has taken a different approach but nonetheless its white Styrofoam clearly symbolizes the Christmas-y feel. Apart from the white Styrofoam there are green snowflakes and the word “Joy” written on the cup with red.
Quite a number of people have been rather offended by Starbucks design and some critics have also labeled it as a part of “war on Christmas”.
The fast food chain is swooped in to save the day and contrary to Starbuck’s reaction received a very overwhelming reaction. A person tweeted on twitter, Inc. thanking the company for the Christmas cups and saying that it is the best coffee company without a doubt. The reason why Dunkin Donut has received more praise than Starbuck is because it has taken a more holiday, Christmas-y and festive approach and further continued its campaign on social media. This campaign was launched last week in New York since then it has received a lot of praise on social media.
In a statement to CNNMoneyDunkin’s explained that for a number of years now the multinational American company has served coffee to its customers in festive cups especially during the Christmas time with the word “JOY” featured on it, this symbol and word is a reflection of the holiday season. On the other hand, the Vice President of Starbucks Jeffrey Fields stated that the company indulged in the holidays with a purity of designs that rightfully welcomes everyone’s story. Dunkin’s cups were released amid the Starbucks’ red cup controversy.

The multinational holding company further stated that this gesture is to reflect the happiness and spirit of the holiday season in a way that the guests would enjoy. More customers commented in comparison to the Starbucks campaign saying that “Dunkin did what Starbucks should have done” – this statement further reignited the ‘Great Starbucks Holiday Cup Controversy of 2015.

Starbucks currently has not commented on the release of Dunkin Brand Group’s cups and has stuck by their own design stating to FoxNews.com that the plain red cups that the company has introduced are giving the customers a black canvas and the leverage to tell their own holiday stories to the world. While most of the people are using hash tags on the cups that say #ItsJustaCup and #MerryChristmasStarbucks.

In other news, Dunkin Brand Group’s stock has been given an average rating of BUY from as many as 26 research firm and brokerage firms are sharing their views  stock of the holding company. In the short term, the stock price of Dunkin’s stock expected to reach $50.47 per share while having a revenue of $209.80 million for the third quarter; in comparison to the estimates of the analysts there’s a difference of 2.813% between the actual and expected target price.
